田淵太郎 個展「あかあか」

このたびmegumu artでは、田淵太郎個展「あかあか」を開催いたします。
田淵太郎は、白く端正に焼き上げることが求められてきた白磁を、あえて薪窯の激しい炎と灰に委ねます。
展覧会名の「あかあか」とは、赤々と燃え盛る窯の内をあらわす言葉です。
直視することさえ難しい眩しさと、想像を絶するほどの熱。その炎のただ中に並ぶ白い器たちが目に浮かびます。
薪を割り、火を焚き、炎と灰に身体ごと向き合い続ける。その長い時間の先に、田淵さんならではの瑞々しい白磁の表情が生まれるのだと思います。

We are delighted to announce Aglow, a solo exhibition by Tabuchi Taro at megumu art.
Traditionally prized for its pure, immaculate whiteness, porcelain takes on an entirely different character in Tabuchi's hands. He entrusts it to the intense flames and flying ash of a wood-fired kiln, embracing the unpredictable forces of fire.
The exhibition title, Aglow, evokes the blazing interior of the kiln, where white porcelain vessels are transformed by extraordinary heat.
Through the physical and demanding process of splitting wood, tending the fire, and confronting the flames, Tabuchi creates porcelain with a remarkable sense of vitality and freshness.
